In the summer of 2011 I took a life changing adventure living in Brazil. Now... thanks to my incredible experience in Brazil, I have continued my adventures, turning this blog into a blog about my travels and what new things life will bring me. Soccer being the main drive in my adventures. Enjoy :)

Day 18- Sexta 3/6/11

I went to work at my placement today, and it was chaotic, but it had its ups. The kids are adorable, and I had fun playing with them on the playground. By the end of the four hours I was pretty beat. On the way home, I have to stop at Icarai beach to catch a different bus number. When I got off, the sun was out and the beach looked amazing, so I decided to just sit out for a little bit to gain some energy back. There are a lot of vendors selling coconut drinks and I have always been curious to how they taste. So, I bought a coconut and sat on the sand looking out to the ocean. Let me just say, this was the first thing that I have tasted that I did not like in Brazil. The coconut looked pretty, but it tasted like sweaty water. Haha, so I would not recommend the coconut, but I toughed it out.

Ok… so compared to a lot of the girls here, I am really tall. They are mostly smaller and shorter than me. Well, getting off the bus today was one of those days where being tall was not as fun. I smacked my head so hard on the top of the bus as I was exiting the bus that I am surprised I did not fall over. It caught me off guard and I could not stop laughing at myself. It hurt so badly, but I did not even turn around to see the faces of the other people. I could only imagine how funny that would have been to be sitting in their shoes watching me hit my head. Since it hurt so badly, I decided that I deserved an Acai. Or I just needed an excuse to go get one. Acai was the perfect medicine and I loaded it with sprinkles and gummies. All better. We took another go at Lapa in Rio and it went much better.  It was fun, but a nice night out. Boa noite.
